Q: Is it available for Trombone?
A: MXTZ Stream is available for all brass instruments including trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, french horn. It is also available for woodwind instruments including flute, clarinet and saxophone. Check out our Store.
Q: Is this safe for my Elementary students to use?
A: Absolutely! Our lightweight and sturdy device fits snuggly into the instrument’s bell. We use non-toxic materials that are designed to be extremely durable and kid-proof.
Q: Is this a mute or a microphone?
A: It is both! The MXTZ Stream captures your sound and translates it into data that a computer can understand while housing your sound within the device.
Q: Will I need an internet connection to use this?
A: With future iterations of the MXTZ Stream our aim is to not only use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but also 5G connectivity in synergy. That means Wi-Fi download speeds without the need of a router!
Q: Is MXTZ stream a platform/app or a device?
A: We offer a mobile (Android/iOS) platform as well as a web-based platform accessible everywhere. Our platform offers every tool a student of music needs including metronome, tuner, and recording software just to name a few.
Q. What data does this device collect?
A: Through the Internet of Things we can discover brilliant trends and phenomena in music education and performance. Our aim is to synthesize data to revolutionize music education.Our IoT devices pick up sound frequencies to identify pitch, volume (loudness/softness), and timbre.
Q: Is this easy to use?
A: Most certainly! For most users a simple plug and play on their instruments with their smartphones will be enough. The mobile platform will be available to anyone with an internet browser.
Q: Will Firmware Updates Be Available and Will There Be A Log of Changes?

Q: Extremely Durable is used. Is there a water resistance rating? Cleaning instructions?
A: So far, our design doesn’t involve any cleaning. We ask that you keep your MXTZ Stream store in a cool and dry place when not in use, and dry with a smooth cloth. Care instructions are included in your manual of operation.
Q: If 5G is not in the coverage area, what speeds are guaranteed? 4G LTE?
A: We’re excited to collaborate with Qualcomm for our 5G modems which as of early 2022 provide an average of 70 megabits per second. To put that into perspective, a typical teleconference only needs 1.5 mbps. To offer a zero latency experience, we leverage the power of Qualcomm’s 5g modems and the cutting edge technology our national carriers have to offer.
Q: (Describe everyday Use Cases) is there a top limit to session size?
You are beginning your semester as a music teacher. Picture this: Emily from the trombone section can’t play her 4th position D in tune. You try to play it on the piano, but the timbre just doesn’t translate well across a webcam microphone. You remember that with the MXTZ IoT device or MXTZ Stream, the stream for short captures real-time data on what the instrument is putting out. On your side of the platform, you have her feed, and her stats: You can see that her tuner is reading just a little sharp and Emily’s D is closer to an Eb. It’s tough to tell on a two dimensional camera, but with the STREAM you have the help that you need to make the most out of this moment, in a quick manner so that you don’t lose your classroom. You continue on and finish rehearsing your arrangement of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” for 6th grade band, all with near-zero lag, and on-platform tools like metronomes and tuners across the platform, and on-demand music sheet push.

Q: What functionality will this have when offline?
A: The basic functionality of our devices will always be available both offline and online. Metronomes, tuners, and playback will remain handy with or without a connection.
Q. Is this a battery powered device?
A: Our devices will be powered with a lithium battery pack that you can plug in via micro USB. We hope to include USB type C in our future iterations of the device to contribute towards our environmental goals of minimizing waste.
